Tupelo, MS.- Anthony Paul Wilson "Ambo"

October 21, 1981, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Anthony Paul Wilson made his grand entrance as the third child born to Brenda Wilson Hudson and Cecil Sykes. On February 17, 2026 our Father in Heaven wanted him back.

Anthony, affectionately known by many friends and family as Ambo, received his education in the Tupelo Public School District, graduated with the Tupelo High School Class of 2001, where sports were a highlight of his life. He played for the Tupelo Golden Wave football team and ran on the track team. He made himself known as one of the fastest runners-so much so that his record remains undefeated to this day.

Ambo was formerly employed by Crescent Memorial Sales and T.D.I. Truck Driving School. Later, he became an employee of Ashley Furniture and Super Ego. A handyman by trade, Ambo could be called on to tackle jobs both big and small.

Ambo found enjoyment in fishing, working on cars, grilling, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Moments with these special people meant the world to him. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his beloved children. Ambo had a knack for telling jokes that kept everyone around him laughing. He never met a stranger and showed love to all he encountered.

Survived by his mother, Brenda Hudson of Tupelo, MS; his children, Montinique Anthony Wilson, Mykenzee Shumpert both of Pontotoc, Mississippi; Kenneth Paul Wilson, Braylen Wilson, Maddisen Moore, Lewis Vaughn, Jaxsen Moore, and Sky Vaughn of Tupelo, Mississippi. his sisters; Sharron (Chrstopher) Moore of TX, Sonya Wilson of Tupelo, Mississippi, Michelle Sykes and Inga Miller both of St. Louis, Missouri, his brother, Reginald Sykes of Shannon, Mississippi; and special family friends, Billy and Catherine Crews of Oxford, Mississippi, and Seekie and Kristy Latrice Shackelford, and a host of uncles, aunts, and many devoted friends.

Preceded in death by his father; his brother, Sheddrod Wilson; and his grandparents, Teresa Sykes and Charlene Dean; Uncle Michael Collier.

Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., Inspirational Community Baptist Church, Tupelo, MS with the Pastor Lesley Mabry as Pastor and Rev. John Young will deliver the eulogy.
