My father was a vibrant man who lived many lives. I often come back to this obituary to read the accounts of those who knew him, only to realize I knew little of him or those around him.
He was graceful, kind, and merciful, yet full of wrath and passion. Bart was a loving and gentle man, yet was never afraid to raise his voice when he felt he had not been heard. He was a good man.
I only got 18 years with him, and in a way, less than that, but it was enough. Enough to build an unconditional love for a father who left too soon.
I think of him every day. The last thing he said to me, from the hospital, was "Now is my time, take care of our girls." and I try my best to emulate his wishes in all I do. He loved us so much.
Almost eight years later, and he is still that billowing wind and crashing thunderstorm, he has yet to become the delicate hummingbird or butterfly. He is my father, and I will love him with all I have, for as long as I have, the same way I can still feel him loving me all the same.

Bart was a good friend! Years ago he took me to a youth fellowship at his home. We stayed intouch through the years and would aways end up talking about the LORD. Bart was a kind soul who cared about others and was loyal to his LORD. I am thankful he was my friend and will miss his smile and laughter. Lookiing forward to seeing him again on the other side! Praise, Glory and Honor to our Lord Jesus Christ who has prepared a place for us to live with Him forever!
