Dot Gibson Obituary

Dorothy Virginia "Dot" Gibson, 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her home. She was born July 11, 1937, in Tupelo to Thomas A. and Kathleen Gibson. She was a graduate of Tupelo High School and Cosmetology School. She worked as a cosmetologist in Orlando, FL for several years, the Lee County Health Department and the North MS Wellness Center. For a short time, she did volunteer work at American Family Association. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and the Jewel Sunday School Class. Dot's life revolved around her pets. She cherished each moment spent with them. She loved doing her yard work and mowing with her tractor. In earlier years, Dot enjoyed golf, running marathons, and all types of exercise.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Lee Memorial Park with Bro. David Smith officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Dot is survived by her two special friends, Patty Burks and Tricia Richardson both of Tupelo.

Her loving and compassionate caregivers by her side during the last few weeks were Deborah Shackleford, Karen Souter, Daisy Mashan, Nadean Evans, Gloria Fitzpatrick and Carolyn Bogan.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tommy "Hoot" Gibson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Family Association or to the charity of your choice.

Her special friends would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers and to North MS Medical Center Hospice.

Pallbearers will be James Richardson, Greg Burks and Rob Chambers.
