Esther Dunlap

1939 - 2025

Esther Little Dunlap, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was 86 years old and a resident of Tupelo, Mississippi.

Born on June 27, 1939, in Selma, North Carolina, Esther was the daughter of the late Bill and Estelle Weaver. A devout Christian, she gave her heart to Jesus in 1965 and lived a life of faith and service. She married the love of her life, Bob Dunlap, in 1956. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life full of love and laughter.

Esther dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse practitioner, serving at various medical facilities across North Mississippi. Her kindness, compassion, and tireless work ethic touched countless lives throughout her career. In a final act of generosity, she chose to donate her body to science, continuing her service to others even after death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Estelle Weaver, her sister, Abby Dale, her infant daughter Marilyn Sue, and her devoted husband, Bob Dunlap.

Esther's legacy will be carried on by her four children: Dianne Crowdis of Clifton, Colorado; Frank Dunlap and his wife Grace of San Francisco, California; Barbara Knapp and her husband Jeff of Tupelo, Mississippi; and Laurel Peterman and her husband Ron of Lyndhurst, Virginia. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

A service to celebrate Esther's life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi with George Ross and Rob Armstrong officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00.
