Harry Morgan

1957 - 2023

Harry Lindley, a good ole boy, ended his earthly pilgrimage peacefully from his residence in Lee County on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 12, 2023. Harry was 65. Born on December 15, 1957 to pioneer Plantersville stock, his parents were the late Marlin Morgan and Halove Lindley Morgan who survives at age 100, Harry lived all his life in and near Plantersville. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1975 and attended ICC. He had great respect for Morgan Farms, his family's farm, which was owned by the Morgan's for over 100 years in Town Creek Bottom and surrounding areas Harry loved farming and watching his late brother, Freddy manage the operation. He enjoyed riding around the fields and countryside, checking out the crops and visiting with his many friends along the way. He was a steady fixture at Quality Discount Foods in Plantersville owned by his family for years. After Quality Foods, he and his wife, Rhonda founded and operated H and R Hardware. His life works put him in contact with thousands of people who became his friends. A man with simple tastes and habits, Harry loved hunting and riding horses. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Plantersville. Many memories of Harry's all too brief life will serve as consolation for a man liked by all and revered by his family.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with his good friend, Thomas Craft, officiating. Private burial will follow in the Plantersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Sunday at Holland's. Harry is survived by his wife, Rhonda Wuichet Morgan, to whom he married Sept. 6, 1984; his two special daughters, Whitney M Stults and Emily McKnight (Nick); his grandchildren, Sophie Stults, Lindley Stults, Hannah Hamby, Ensley Cook, Emalynn Cook, EllaRae Cook, Lucy McKnight and Harrison McKnight; his mother, Halove L. Morgan; his sisters, Martha Jean Shipp (Phillip) and Jan Medlin (Johnny) all of Plantersville; his sister in law, Debbie Morgan Garrison; his Wuichet in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dad, Marlin Morgan, his brother, Freddy Morgan and his mother and father in law, Frances and Jack Wuichet.
