Inez Gates Obituary
Funeral Services for Mrs. Gates will be Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in Peoples Cemetery.
A Pentecostal by faith, Mrs. Gates was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a very simple and humble lady who will be remembered for her love of gospel music, family and gardening.
Visitation will continue today two hours prior to service at Ripley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gates leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Hope Renfrow Gates of Ripley; grandsons, Steven Gates (Stephanie) of Ripley, Kevin Gates (Teresa Plaxico) of Booneville and Jason Gates (Sheena) of Rienzi; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Rainey (Mae Bell) of New Albany; and sister-in-law, Tootie Rainey of Ripley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Vettie Downs Rainey; her son, Billy Wayne Gates; a sister, Dixie Gates; and a brother, J.P. Rainey.
