Isaac "Ike" McMullin, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory, Mississippi after an extended illness.
One of eight children, Ike was born on May 11, 1936 in Tyronza, Arkansas to Isaac McMullin, Sr. and Lela Lucille (Lee) McMullin.
Ike graduated from Harrisburg High School, Class of 1955 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. He attended University of Tennessee where he earned a degree in X-Ray Technology. He served in the United States Army in El Paso, Texas and while there, he worked in the Radiology Department of the Military Hospital.
In 1962 Ike moved to Amory, Mississippi and began working at Gilmore Memorial Hospital as an X-Ray Technologist, where he retired after 52 years of service. He was very devoted to his job and patients, taking great pride in his work.
While in Amory, he met and married his devoted wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Hathcock. They were blessed with one son, Isaac Chadwick "Chad" McMullin and two grandsons, Samuel Isaac "Sam" McMullin and Benjamin W. "Ben" McMullin. Ike was always interested in the lives of his grandsons. They were his pride and joy.
Ike loved the outdoors and found great pleasure and joy in God's creation. He also enjoyed spending time working in his shop. Ike's life was not without sorrow as he mourned the loss of his son who passed away in 2023.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann McMullin; his grandsons, Sam McMullin of Hattiesburg and Ben McMullin of Vicksburg; step grandson, Will Grisby of Vicksburg; daughter in law, Brandie McMullin of Vicksburg; sisters, Kathy Condra (Bobby) of Harrisburg, Arkansas and Wilma Virginia Johnson of Bossier City, Louisiana along with his nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Ike is preceded in death by his son, Chad McMullin; his parents Isaac McMullin, Sr. and Lela McMullin; his sisters, Juanita Germany and Patsy Jane Brown; his brothers, Billy Joe McMullin and Glenn Russell McMullin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam McMullin, Ben McMullin, Stephen Hathcock, Van Rogers, Alan Germany, Chris Nance, Terry McMullin and Michael McMullin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Hathcock, Danny Hathcock and Larry McMullin.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday from 1 PM until the service hour at 2:30 PM.
