1962 - 2016

OKOLONA – Jamie Lee Carouthers, 53, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born December 29, 1962, to the late Willie Mae Ezell Carouthers. He was educated with Okolona Schools, a factory worker, brick mason and a lifetime resident of the community. He was also a Baptist. He will be remembered as one who shared love, laughter, and cheer with many family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean Ward Carouthers; daughters, Ashley Chatman (Cory), Jami Carouthers, Kurstin Johnson (Jermaine) and Shekenia Hampton, all of Okolona; sons, Talli Hampton (Revina) of Verona, Walter Hampton, Theran Hampton (Brenda) and Tony Hampton, all of Okolona; sister, Mary Dean Lewis (Harold) of St. Louis, Missouri; brothers, Robert Carouthers (Claudine) of Okolona and J.J. Carouthers (Vanita) of St. Louis, Missouri; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be today, April 8, 2016, at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, from 3 to 6 p.m. with a wake 6 to 7 p.m. Services will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Clark Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
