Joseph Johnson Obituary

Joseph Daniel Johnson, age 80, went to be with his wife in heaven on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He passed away at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Joseph was born on November 23, 1936 to Beatrice Lambert Johnson in Prentiss County. He was a member of Smith Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. His two granddaughters and two great grandsons brought him much joy, as did his niece Penny Johnson Stephens, his nephew Marlin Cox (whom he considered a son), Aleshia and Ashley Cox, his dog Sport, and of course his daughter Pam. He was an avid reader. His Bible was well worn. Joseph enjoyed visiting with people. He had good friends and he was a good friend.

A graveside-only service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Mormon Cemetery, 147 CR 1250, Booneville, with Mitch Moore officiating.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Pam Johnson Harris of Booneville; two granddaughters Leah Harris Nabors (Robert) of Germantown, TN and Jill Harris of Nashville, TN; two great grandsons Ryker Nabors and Quinn Nabors of Germantown, TN; his sisters-in-law Venus Johnson and Emma Grove both of Booneville; his brother Tony Johnson (Cathy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his niece Penny Johnson Stephens (Tony); and his nephew Marlin Cox (Angela) all of Booneville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years Tina "Tiny" Stevens Johnson, his mother, his brother Troy Johnson, and an infant son born in 1958.

My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our love ones lost in death can be reassuring.*
