Julia Staten Obituary

Julia Gale Bevill Staten, 84, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 in New Albany. She was born April 3, 1931 in New Albany to the late Herman S. and Louie Bell Bevill. She was retired, having worked for Bell Telephone Company, Union County General Hospital and Union County Tax Assessor's Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Albany.

Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Spencer and Bro. Tom Sumrall officiating. Burial will be at New Albany City Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter, Jan Davis (Andy), a son, Don Staten (Denise), both of New Albany; two sisters, Martha Langley (Jimmy) of Tupelo and Joy Lester of Ridgeland, MS; a brother Billy Don Bevill (Ann) of New Albany and two grandsons, Grant Staten and Drew Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Curtis Staten, her parents and a brother-in-law, Tom Lester.

Pallbearers will be Grant Staten, Drew Davis, Luke Staten, Matt Staten, Bart Bevill, Jimmy Bennett, Doug Haire, Russell Cauthen, Cliff Rial, Ben Tate and Michael Joslin.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 11:00a.m. till service time at the church.
