Kayla Darby

1989 - 2017

Kayla Marie Darby, 28, departed this life suddenly from injuries received in an automobile/school bus accident which occurred Thursday, November 30, 2017 on Hwy 363 in Saltillo. Kayla was born on March 7, 1989 in Tupelo to Alice Marie Darby and Gary Martin. She graduated from Mooreville High School in 2007 and attended Itawamba Community College. At the time of her untimely death, she was a valued employee of Best Foam in Sherman. Kayla was and adventurous soul who loved God's creation and thrived on being a part of it. She loved mud riding, horses and any outdoor activity. An avid Ole Miss fan, she never met a stranger with her outgoing personality and greatly enjoyed listening to music especially country music. She was baptized at Living Waters Community Church where she attended many years. Kayla was a good girl and will be sorely missed by her family and a large host of friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Shaun Martin officiating. Private family burial will follow in Gilvo Cemetery at Skyline. Visitation will be from 10 AM Sunday-service time at 2 PM. Pallbearers will be Jerry Whitehead, James Mayo, Michael Holt and Michael Alexander.

Kayla leaves behind her mother, Marie Darby of Saltillo; her father, Gary Martin of the Iron Bluff Community in Itawamba Co.; her grandparents, Roger Darby and wife, Wilma of Mooreville and Ellen Green of Charleston, Miss. her brothers, Danny Martin (Janet) and Brian Martin (Leslie). Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly.
