Patricia Brazeal Chafton, 74, left this world on July 8, 2025, to spend eternity with Jesus in her Heavenly home. Pat, as she was affectionately known, grew up in Belden, Tupelo and Saltillo, Mississippi.
She married Carlisle Chafton in 1985 and soon after moved to Hondo, Texas where they raised a blended family of twelve children. After a short return to Mississippi, and spending some time in Kentucky and Kansas, she finally found what she often referred to as her "little slice of paradise" in Morgan's Point Resort, Texas.
She had a deep love for photojournalism and was very proud to have her work published in multiple well-regarded photography magazines. However, her love for her family was the real cornerstone of her life. She loved every moment spent traveling with Carl, and each afternoon that she strolled through the zoo with her grandchildren. These brought her a lifetime of memories and happiness. She lived for the countless hours she spent reminiscing on the phone with her sister, Judy and wouldn't have traded a single moment of yelling at the umpire on TV while watching the World Series with her daughter, Judi. Pat cherished every moment spent with loved ones.
She leaves behind her daughters: Judi Weber (Jay), and Terri Craig, her sons: Shane Craig (Linda), Austin Chafton and Gary Chafton, her sister: Judy Bright (Jerry), her brother: Mike Brazeal (Vanessa), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlisle Chafton, her parents, Haden and Earline Brazeal, her sister, Bertha Mize, her brother, Buddy Brazeal, her daughter, Kimberly Craig and grandson, Daniel Craig.
In honor of Pat's enduring love for children and family, her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support children in the Texas Foster Care. Contributions can be made at

May Pat's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
