Patricia Sheffield Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Lanell Allen Sheffield, 82, of Tupelo, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab. Affectionately known as "Our Mother" and "Gran" by her children and grandchildren, Pat was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born on April 12, 1942, in Mississippi to Grady and Ruth Anderson Allen, Pat lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family and friends. She was a proud graduate of Yocona High School.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George Thomas Sheffield; her daughter, Shana Cliett (Mark) of West Point; her sons, Jerome Sheffield (Shelley) of Saltillo and James Sheffield (Amy) of Saltillo. She also leaves behind her cherished brother, Donald Allen (Francis) of Oxford; her adored grandchildren, Kirksey Sheffield, Luke Sheffield, Anna Claire Ivester (J.D.), Sloane Lyle, Nancy Ann Cliett, Conner Cliett, Kaylee Cliett, Zachary Barrett, and Jordi Barrett; and great-grandchildren, Haystin Sheffield, Anna Reid Ivester, and Tate Burks. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear Dinner Club friends Joyce Clark Swain, Nancy Kilpatrick, Jane Kellum, Sue Rasberry, and Dean Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings: sisters Ruth Dale Sneed (Byron), Marie Russell (Clovis), Mary Seabury (Bob); and brothers Gary Allen (Joan), Dwayne Allen (Linda), Gayle Allen (Kay), George Allen (Kathryn), and Gene Allen (Marie).

Pat had a passion for life and a deep love for the arts. She was an award-winning artist and a dedicated member of the Northeast Mississippi Art Association and the Jr. Women's Club. She also spent time shaping young minds as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Sunday School teacher. Pat found joy in gardening, writing poetry, and reading-hobbies that enriched both her life and the lives of those around her. She cherished her faith, worshiping with both the Church of Christ and the Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oak Hill Community Church in Saltillo on April 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.

The Sheffield family is grateful for the care and support received during this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Associated Family Funeral Home of Tupelo.

Pat's kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
