Raymond Cross Obituary

Raymond Lindsey Cross, 57, died at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Saturday, December 16, following a short illness. He was born September 6, 1960 in Calhoun County to Rudy Franklin and Mary Lois Cross. He worked most of his life as a factory worker, but had most recently worked for the city of Houlka in Public Works. He was a wonderful son, a forgiving brother, a loving uncle and a true friend.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 18, at 3 p.m. at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston with Brother David Blackwell officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Monday, from 1 until the service at 3.

Mr. Cross is survived by his sisters Glenda Shallock of Pontotoc and Deborah Hamby (Stanley) of Houston; his brothers Rudy Wayne Cross of Houlka, Danny Cross of Calhoun City, and Dean Cross (Jo) of Calhoun City; his stepchildren Jamie Brooks of Tupelo, Nicholas and Tawana Earp of Houlka; his step-grandchildren Gavin, Gage, and Garren Earp; and several nieces and nephews, and his loyal companion, Brody.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters: Janice Cross, Gayle Cross Hamby, Brenda Cross Chandler, Marlene Cross Byars and Jacqueline Cross; two brothers Truman Randell Cross and James Cross; and a step-son Jesse Brooks.
