Sandra Hancock

1947 - 2025

Sandra Lee Hancock, a Tupelo native and longtime advertising executive with her legendary dad, S. A. "Junior" Hancock, departed her earthly pilgrimage crossing to that evergreen shore from Simmerson Green House-United Methodist Senior Services on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025. She was 78 years old. Sandra was the eldest child of the late S.A. "Junior" Hancock and Vernal Howard Hancock. Sandra grew up in Tupelo enjoying her family and friends and the family farm where many memories were made. She graduated Tupelo High School in l965. She was "in shape" most of her adult life and loved playing softball for many years. She briefly attended Miss. State before joining her dad at Hancock Advertising, a leading Northeast Miss. Advertising Firm. She lived in the Miss. Delta area for over 25 years. After the death of her Dad, Sandra and her sister, Sheba took over the family business and continued until their health failed. She was a great Mother to Alan, Michele and Sterling and made most all of their sporting events and school activities. An outdoors lady, Sandra loved deer hunting with her sons. A master cook with many cookbooks, she was a specialist at making duck gumbo! Sandra loved watching TV and had shows she seldom missed like Dallas, Blue Bloods and the Wednesday night series, Chicago Med, Fire and Police. Sandra was a born saleslady, enjoyed her career, was instrumental in caring for her late parents and keeping up with her children and grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. A service celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Chaplain John Cagle officiating. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Monday and continue until 1 PM. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming at 1 PM, and will be archived thereafter. Sandra leaves behind her two sons, Alan Woodruff (Cydny) of Vicksburg and Sterling Woodruff of Ridgeland; 3 grandchildren, Greyson Woodruff, Audrey Woodruff and Hanna Harrell (Cole) and one great grandchild; Nevae; her only sister, Sheba Hancock of Cordova, Tn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Vernal and a daughter, Michele Harrell.
