Wade Murphy

1967 - 2016

BREWER – Lindsey ""Wade"" Murphy, 48, left this world unexpectedly to be with his heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, while at his residence. He was born in Columbus, Mississippi on November 2, 1967, to the Rev. Dr. Lindsey Marvin Murphy and Charlotte Southerland Murphy. Upon graduating high school he continued to study at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned an Associate Degree in Music. He married Lisa Goolsby on July 18, 1987. Wade was dedicated to the Lord's service and served as Music Minister and Youth Director in various churches in North Mississippi to include First Baptist Church of Plantersville, Rawls Springs Baptist Church of Hattiesburg, Calvary Baptist Church of West Point and Brewer Baptist Church. He was presently a member of Brewer Baptist Church and will be remembered for his beautiful voice and singing for revivals throughout the area. He enjoyed tractors and being with his family.
A celebration of his life and home-going will be at 1 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2016, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. James Towery officiating. Private burial will follow in Brewer Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from noon to service time.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lisa Murphy of Brewer; parents, Dr. Lindsey Marvin Murphy and Charlotte Murphy of Brewer; one son, Mark Murphy of Brewer; two daughters, Amanda Robinson (Devin) of West Point and Keri Beasley (Matt) of Brewer; brother, Brad Murphy (Tricia) of Brewer; mother-in-law, Joan Gurley of Potts Camp; three grandchildren, Logan Beasley, Emma Grace Beasley and Addy Kate Beasley; a host of other near and dear relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Lindsey, Matt Beasley, Devin Robinson, Ryan Murphy, Luke Murphy and Matt Scott.
