Joe Barrett

Joe Barrett, age 92, passed away on January 21, 2013 at his residence.

He was a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro and a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II and was the owner and operator of Barrett's Cabinet Shop.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Hettie Markum Barrett; brothers, Robert Barrett, Ed Barrett and Ray Barrett; and sisters, Christene Barrett Patterson, Grace Barrett Finley, Wylie Barrett Barnes-Richardson and May Barrett.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel Harner Barrett; sons, Danny (Rhonda) Barrett, Ronnie (Donna) Barrett, Michael (Jennifer) Barrett and Ben (Katina) Barrett; sister, Sue (Joe) McElroy; grandchildren, Eric (Missy) Barrett, Allison (Jay) Davidson, Christopher (Brandy) Barrett, Angela Barrett, Logan Barrett, Adam Barrett, Alex Barrett and Hayden Barrett; and seven great-grandchildren.

Chapel service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11 a.m., at Jennings and Ayers Chapel, with David Young officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130; (615) 893-2422. Please leave condolences at www.jenningsandayers.com
