Nellie Mae Maloney Ellis

Nellie Mae "Pookie" Maloney Ellis, age 78 of Murfreesboro, passed away on May 8, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

She was a native of Davidson County, but lived in Rutherford County for over 30 years. Nellie was a homemaker.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Eugene Maloney and Willie Mae McMillon Maloney; son, Billy Ellis; and daughter, Kathy Schweppe.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Ellis, Sr. of Eagleville; sons, Chris (Carol) Ellis of Murfreesboro and Tommy (Tonya) Coode of Murfreesboro; daughters, Angie (Kevin) Hughes of Murfreesboro and Leslie Crabtree of Lebanon, TN; sister, Jean Stacey of Bellevue, TN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, TN, with Nan Zoller officiating. Burial will follow with family and friends serving as Active Pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Please leave condolences at www.jenningsandayers.com

My thoughts and prayers are with Pookie's family. She is a very dear friend and I have many many wonderful memories of our time together.
