Angela Schaapveld Obituary
She was born June 12, 1920 at Offerle, the daughter of Raymond R. and Applonia Stegman. A Dodge City resident since 1947, moving from Offerle, she was a homemaker. She belonged to Grandma's Pinochle Club, did bridal alterations and other alterations as well, ironed the altar towels for the church as well as volunteered for the Blood Mobile.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Altar Society both in Dodge City.
On April 18, 1949, she married Louis W. Schaapveld, Jr. at Offerle. He survives.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Steven and wife Terrie, Wichita and Doug and wife Pat, Dodge City; a daughter, Jean Fugleberg, Sedgwick; a brother, Larry Stegman, Offerle; sister, Lorraine Kincaid, Dodge City; 2 grandchildren, Elessa Liby and husband Jake and Erica Segraves and husband Tim; 4 great grandchildren, Kirsten, Michael, Anna, Josie and 2 great-great grandchildren, Axel and Xander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Bob and Melvin Stegman, 2 sisters, Deloris Heiland and Elaine Harper and a son-in-law, Harlan Fugleberg.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Monday March 27, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday March 28, 2017 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City.
The family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.

Louie,
Deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have very fond memories as a SMPC college kid going to your house and playing cards, eating meals, and a lot of laughter. "Well for Heavens Sake" Ann would say when the cards didn't go in her favor. Those memories along with the special loving relationship you and Ann had will be everlasting.
