Cloris Miller

1939 - 2016

Cloris Elaine Miller, 77, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at Hospice House of Hutchinson, KS.

She was born on April 24, 1939, in Dodge City, the daughter of Louis M. and Beulah Opal (Davenport) Miller.

She attended Dodge City Schools and Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in El Dorado. During her career, she worked as a surgical nurse. On February 18, 1967, she married John A. Froetschner and from this union three children were born, Tonya, Tamara, and Matthew.

She was an active member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and treasured the fellowship and Christian guidance at Zion Lutheran Church, Offerle, KS, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Dodge City, KS, St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Wichita, KS, and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson, KS. She always encouraged her children, grandchildren, family and friends to be active in their Christian lives.

Survivors include: daughter, Tonya Gaston of Dallas, TX, granddaughter, Hailey Gaston of Kansas City, MO, daughter, Tamara Sargent and husband, Travis, grandsons, Clayton and Jonah, all of Canton, KS, and granddaughter, Kaylee Froetschner of Pflugerville, TX.

She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew John Froetschner, parents, three brothers, Walter Miller, Dale Lawrence and Charles Miller, four sisters, Louise Maupin, AnnaLea Nicholson, Cynthia Melia, and Nancy McLeod.

All services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson, KS. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM with Pastor Dale Dumperth presiding. Graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Offerle, KS at 3:30 PM.
