Garden City, Kansas - Gary A. Ratts, Age 63, of Garden City, Kansas, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at home on February 27, 2021, with his wife Peggy at his side.
He was born on February 21, 1958 to Von and Naomi Ratts in Dodge City, Kansas. Gary attended Dodge City schools, graduating from Dodge City Senior High School in 1976. He attended Dodge City Community College. On August 6, 1977, he was united in marriage to Peggy Schnitzler in Dodge City, Kansas.
Gary dedicated 40 years of his life in the electric industries finishing his career out as Senior Manager of Corporate Services with Sunflower Electric Power Corp.
Gary enjoyed life and the people around him. He enjoyed reading his Bible, attending Christian concerts with his wife, golfing with friends and cheering on his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Ratts; a daughter Sondra Creamer of Larned, Kansas; a son Justin Ratts of Parker, Colorado; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; his mother Naomi McVey of Dodge City, Kansas; and a brother Bart Ratts of Dodge City, Kansas.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Von Ratts; a brother Troy Ratts; and most recently, his father-in-law Everett Schnitzler. Gary will be greatly missed!
There will be no visitation times. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Bible Christian Church in Garden City with Rev. Bob Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Emmaus House or to the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Condolences may be given at garnandfuneralhomes.com.
