John L. Eckert, 87, longtime Hutchinson High School chemistry and biology teacher, died March 18, 2021, in Hutchinson. John is survived by his one sister, Joanne Whelchel, of Dodge City. Masonic graveside services will be held later this spring at the Hanston, Kansas Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. A full obituary will be published prior to his service.

Joanne I just found out about Johns passing. I am so very sorry. I knew John for over 40 yrs and was friends with his Son Dave until he passed. John was a very good man.
