Corrine Abbot Obituary
Dothan - Corrine McGiboney Abbott, 95, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Smyrna, GA and Albany, GA died August 13, 2022 at Extendicare Health Center in Dothan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Randy Crowe and Rev. Mark Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Abbott was born on July 28, 1927 in Stone Mountain, GA to William and Margaret Crowe McGiboney. She met and married the late Rev. E.A. "Bud" Abbott in Stone Mountain, GA on August 31,1947. Mrs. Abbott was a Pastor's wife, mother, housewife, Sunday School teacher and was a preschool teacher at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed rummikub and word searches.
Survivors include her children, Jan Abbott (Clayton) Smith of Ft. Gaines, GA, Darrell Andrew (Gail) Abbott of St. Augustine, FL and Darlene Abbott (Randy) Ream of Dothan, AL, her grandchildren, Blair Hasty (Carman), Bob Ream (Sophie), Brittany Abbott Kennedy (Ben), Erin Smith Kehren (Eddie), Brandon Abbott (Rachel) and Casey Smith and her great-grandchildren, Ellie Pulliam; Hudson, Caroline and Mary Evelyn Ream; Davis and Norah Grace Hasty; Clarke Palomino; Bryson and Brianna Kennedy; Evan, Ashton and Ansley Kehren; Kason, Corbin and Callie Abbott.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Mrs. Abbott to Byne Memorial Baptist Building The Legacy Fund, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA 31707. We will miss our dear mrs Abbott ,we loved playing rummikub with her ,I have such good memories of her ..I often woke her up from her nap and I said mrs Abbott do you want to play rummikub and she would beat me to the door ,such a sweet lady .
