Esther Ray Dick

Esther Ray Dick Ms. Esther (Nanny) Ray Dick of the Fadette Community went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 10, 2010 where she'll know the joy of perfect rest in Heaven up above. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Adam Habbard officiating. Burial will follow in Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Ms. Dick was born on July 22, 1926 in Geneva County, AL to the late Rev. Arthur and Winnie Howell Ray. Ms. Dick was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Dick, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson. Survivors include one daughter: Judy Shaw (Christopher) of Fadette; three sons: Douglas Dick and Jonathan Dick both of Dothan, John B. Dunchof (Stacy) of Taylor; one sister: Wynell Simmons of Reho-beth; one brother: Paul Ray of Fadette; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and caregiver, Ms. Ruby Thomley of Slocomb.
