George and I send all our love to Gene's family. He will be missed by many people due to his outstanding personality and loving nature. When I was so close to his mom, Lola I learned much about her beautiful family. Daleville citizens will miss Gene, people he did business with will miss him & most of all his beloved family. It seems only yesterday I met with him in his office in Daleville but of course it was over 20 yrs ago. We shall all met again when He calls us home. We will remain in prayer for his family. We are so sorry to hear about Gene. He will be greatly missed. He has touched so many lives.Randy my husband worked for the city for 25 years and he loved working for Gene. I will never forget when Mama was keeping the girls, that our T.V broke and Gene brought Daddy one to use so he could watch football. That might seem small but to us it meant a lot. It is things like that which make a good person like Gene. I know he has done a lot for Daleville and for a lot of people. He will be greatly missed. We will be praying for you just lean on God he is the only one who can get you through this. God needed him. Pat just look at your girls and you will see Gene. We love you and if you need anything let us know. God bless.Randy, Betty Jo , Sierra, Casey Christian. Elizabeth Shirley.
