Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at South View Cemetery, Thomaston, with the Revs. Joey Smith and Jim Davis officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 2 at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. Byrd Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
He was born Sept. 9, 1916, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Jessie James Davis and Stella Maude Knight Davis. Mr. Davis was a native of Hall County, Ga., and a resident of Upson County for most of his life. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as a postal clerk after 40 years of service. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where he was involved in Sunday school. Mr. Davis was a graduate of the R.E. Lee Institute Class of 1934 and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include niece, Ann Hawkins Landers of Dothan; nephews, Jim Davis of Meansville, Ga., and Dan Davis of Sacramento, Calif.; great-nieces, Margaret Landers of Dothan, Jenny Allison of Barnesville, Ga., and Kristi Davis of Meansville, Ga.; great-nephews, Ellis Landers of Dothan, Jonathon Davis, Greg Davis and Michael Davis, all of Meansville, Ga., and Jesse Davis of Sacramento, Calif.

Last night I dreamed of Mr. Hugh. This morning I got up and checked the paper and was not suprised to see his name. Mr. Hugh always made all of us at Extendicare smile. He was truly loved and we will all miss him. Thank you for sharing him with us. Praying God's comfort during this time.
