Inez Yance Knight Inez Yance Knight, a resident of Haleburg, died early Monday morning, November 4, 2013. She was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M Thursday, November 7, 2013, in the Haleburg Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Pettis and Reverend Ray Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Haleburg Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haleburg Baptist Church, c/o Sara Pitchford, 3108 County Road 112, Columbia, AL 36319 or to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303. Mrs. Knight was born and reared in the Bethlehem community, near Headland, daughter of the late Elbert Hezekiah Yance and Willie Eugene Brown Yance. She moved to Haleburg in 1954 where she was a member of the Haleburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Earl Knight, two sisters, Doris Teat, and Geraldine Hataway, two brothers, Edward Yance, and Clarence Yance. Surviving relatives include a sister, Margaret Wilcox, Moberly, MO; sisters-in-law, Edis Yance, Haleburg; and Mary Ellen Yance, Dothan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Knight family, Joe B. Knight (Carolyn), Hattiesburg, MS; Doris Lorig (Marvin), Albany, GA; and Mable Morris, Dothan; nephews and nieces, David Teat (Mary), Dennis Teat (Beverly), Donnie Teat (Elaine), Charlotte Smith (Tippy), Bobby Teat (Michelle), Ronnie Yance (Mary), Terry Yance (Margaret), Kenneth Yance (Betty), Deborah Roney (Tim), Jeanie Byland, Wayne Wilcox (Sandy), Danny Wilcox (Shelley); several nieces and nephews from the Knight family; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
