Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with the Revs. Winford Gulledge and John W. Helton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Old Zion Baptist Church, c/o Johnnie Davis, 1134 County Road 57 North, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Mr. White was born and reared in the Edwin community of Henry County and had lived near Shorterville since 1963. He was a member of the Old Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. White was employed as a security guard with United Security of Dothan. He was formerly employed by Murphy Trucking Co. as a truck driver.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his father, Simon Seab White.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sybil Money White, Shorterville; a daughter, Natalie White Cook and husband, Nicholas Cook, Dothan; a son, Jason White, Ozark; his mother, Annie Kate Ryals White, Abbeville; two sisters, Peggy Still, Dothan, and Annie Ruth Hammond and husband, Larry Hammond, Nashport, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Edmond Davis, Thomas Murphy, Matt Murphy, Michael Starling, Steve Ward and Rockey McCartha.
Holman-Abbeville Mortuary, (334) 585-5261, is in charge of arrangements.
