Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Crawley officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. King was born Feb. 19, 1926, to the late Lewie Frank King and Alma King Trawick. Through Mr. King's work he spent the early years of his life traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada. One of his greatest joys was sharing stories and experiences of his travels. Many hours were spent with Mr. King reliving his past experiences with those who knew him well, especially his children and grandchildren. In later years, he owned and operated King Tire Shop in Pinckard. He was an avid reader of old western novels and history of World War I and World War II.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes L. King; son, Ricky Joe King; his parents, Lewie Frank King and Alma King Trawick; step-father, Nathan Trawick; two brothers: Jansen King and James King.Survivors include four daughters and one son, Lynda Mauldin of Pinckard, Ninna Sasser (Randy) of Wicksburg, Cathy Harden (the late Mike Harden) of Newton and Connie Young of Pinckard and Sammy King of Wicksburg; three brothers, Bill King (Joann) of Newton, Jack King (Janice) of Wicksburg and Bobby King (Charlene) Ocean Springs, Miss.; three sisters, Dr. Virginia S. King of Pinckard, Sue Maund of Ozark and Gladys Ritterburg of Pinckard. Mr. King had 10 loving grandchildren, Amy Clark (Joe), Wayne Mauldin Jr., Stephanie Williams, Holly Tingdale (Travis), Chris King (Amanda), Jason King, Dana Gay (Dan), Jordan Chumney (Nick), Colby King and Evan King; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Clark, Kaleb and Dakotah Devier, Bowen and Sutherlin Williams, Alana Moore, Gwynah Tingdale, Abbott Gay, Tristen, Jaren and Saylah King; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Wiregrass Hospice of Dothan for all the support and kindness shown during Mr. King's illness.
