Justin Ketchum Obituary
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, in Hartford Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Brannon and the Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Justin was born on Oct. 7, 1984, in Houston County to Steve Edward Ketchum and Laura Jane Sorrells Ketchum. He graduated from Geneva County High School in 2003 where he participated in baseball, basketball, and football. He was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish. The one thing Justin never forgot was his family; he dearly loved his family and friends.
His maternal grandfather, W. E. Sorrells, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Laura Ketchum (Craig Fondren) of Hartford; father, Steven Edward Ketchum (Lisa) of Hartford; two sisters, Stephanie Ketchum (Anthony Bowden) of Wicksburg, Lauren Michelle Ketchum (Lee Dykes) of Hartford; three step-brothers, Travis Allen Bright (Libby) of Pensacola, Fla., Chad Bright of Marianna, Fla., Eric Walding of Hartford; one step-sister, Courtney Bright of Marianna; paternal grandparents, Robbie and James E. Ketchum of Hartford; maternal grandmother, Myrna Loy Sorrells Peacock of Hartford; great-grandmother, Hunter Ketchum of Hartford; aunts and uncles, Rhonda and Junior Tindell of Hartford, Barbara and Bill Rosser of Hartford, Lamar Sorrells of Birmingham; his girlfriend, Hilary Brunson of Hartford; and several cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wes Tindell, Matt Rosser, Adam Rosser, Anthony Adkinson, Dustin Herring, Grant Sorrells, Brandon Landrum and Heath Hatcher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Hutchings, Von Hill, Will Smith, Kyle Hodges, Brian Murkerson, Mason Walding and the 2003 Graduating Class of Geneva County High School.

Laura and Family; I am very sorry to hear of Justin's death. He was a dear friend of my grandson, Josh Wood, and was at my house (where Josh lived) quite often. He was a very nice young man. Josh joined the Marines in January and is in 29 Palms, CA for further training. He loved Justin like a brother and wishes he could have been here, but his thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you, too.
