Kevin Dwain Averett of Enterprise died Monday, June 17, 2019 at Flowers Hospital. He was 58. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until time of service. Kevin was born April 14, 1961 in Enterprise, AL to mother, Betty Jones Averett and the late Charles Byrd Averett. Kevin played in all sports, specializing in basketball for which he was awarded a scholarship to Troy University. He worked for several transportation companies such as Roadway, Florida Rock, Texico, Great Dane Trailers and Custom Home Audio with Frances and Daryl Blankenship. He is preceded in death by his father; sister-in-law, Wendy Walden Averett and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include his mother, Betty Jones Averett; two brothers: Roland Wade Averett (Kere) of Ivyland, PA and Mark Lenwood Averett of Enterprise, AL; five nieces and nephews: Lindsey Wallace (Chris) of Huntsville, AL, Cameron Averett (Erica) of Enterprise, AL, Karlee Averett of Philadelphia, PA, Rory Averett of Wilmington, DE, and Hollyn Averett of Seattle, WA; on great-nephew, Walker Lee Wallace and great-niece Emery Madilyn Averett. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to: Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 500 Alberta Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
