Susanne Moulthrop Stanbury ascended to her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2017, in Dothan, Alabama. Susanne was born to Matthew Moss Moulthrop and Elizabeth Gardner Moulthrop on June 10, 1930, in Eufaula, Alabama. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1948 as class Valedictorian. From there she attended Duke University and the University of Alabama, graduating from the latter in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology. She furthered her education at Emory University, where she completed her fifth year in Hematology. She worked in the clinical labs at Emory University Hospital and Georgia Baptist Hospital, Atlanta, and Sumter Regional Hospital, Americus, GA. Susanne married Thomas Ramser Stanbury, also of Eufaula, on March 20, 1953. She is predeceased by her parents and husband. Susanne is survived by their two children, Thomas Ramser (Tom) Stanbury, Jr., of Helena, Alabama, and Cheryl Stanbury of Destrehan, Louisiana; their two granddaughters Abigale Stanbury Watkins (Blake) of Homewood, Alabama, and Susanna Stanbury of Boston, MA; her siblings Betty Broadfield of Fredericksburg, Virginia, her twin brother Bob Moulthrop (Mary) of Annandale, Virginia, Frances Gordon (Hugh) of DeLand, Florida, Martha Moshides of Ashburn, Virginia, and Charles Moulthrop (Jane) of Dothan, Alabama; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Susanne loved her family, her dogs, and being a medical technologist (ASCP). She was a big fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. But most of all she cherished her personal relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be at Chapman Funeral Home, Eufaula, AL, on Sunday, January 22nd at 2:00 p.m. CST. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Old Fairview Cemetery, Eufaula. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O.
