TALMADGE ETHEREDGE Obituary

Talmadge T. Etheredge Talmadge T. Etheredge of Leesburg, FL passed away on April 12, 2010. He was 85. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Liberty Baptist Church in Pansey, AL with Rev. Douglas Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main directing. Mr. Etheredge will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Saturday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James Aiken and Sally Lumittie Etheredge; sisters, Oleta Ingram, and Mae Dean Burkett; and a brother, Otha Etheredge. Talmadge was born in 1924 and lived in Pansey, AL, until 1961 when he and his family moved to Leesburg and purchased Haines Creek Fishing Resort. As a residential developer, he built Bonfire Mobile Village in Leesburg and Riverview Mobile Estates in Homosassa. A World War II Army veteran, he enjoyed saltwater and fresh water fishing and was an avid Florida Gators fan, attending games for over 45 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, and a former member of the Elks Club, Lake County Gator Club and the Quarterback Club of Leesburg. He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 66 years, Blanche; a loving sister, Merle E. Tolar of Pansey, AL; four children: Jenann "Nan" Sisemore (Don) of Bradenton, FL, Stephen T. "Steve" Ether-edge, Sr., (Karen) of Do-than, Dr. R. Kim Etheredge (Michele) of Leesburg, FL, and Tammi Green (Robert) of Trinity, FL; 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Scott (Kelly) Dressel, Kellie (Rob) Viera, Allyson (Allen) Dozier, Stephen Etheredge, Jr. (Katherine), Chip Dres-sel, Lauren (Will) Bigham, Wesley, Shannon, and Brian Etheredge, Sydney and Zachary Green; seven great grandchildren, Kate-lyn and Trevor Viera, Walker and Evan Dressel, Preston Bigham, Mary McKin-non Dozier, Stephen T. Etheredge, III; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to the Christian Care Center Inc. c/o First Baptist Church, 115 North 13th Street, Lees-burg, FL or the American Parkinson Disease Association, 1250 Hyland Boulevard, Suite 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305.
