The most fortuitous day of my life was when I met Vernon. I was a struggling
Pilot trying my best to acquire flight time and credibility. Vernon put me under
his Wing and lifted me up to my first Flying Position. I went on to become an
International Captain with American Airlines. My entire career was beholding
to Vernon. He was a very generous and honorable man. I am so glad I was
able to reconnect with him before he passed away. My sympathy and prayers
to his family and their loss. Captain Dave Aders AAL/R
