On March 10, 2017, a most beautiful and gentle man, loved by all who knew him, a man who never met a stranger, transitioned from this life to his next, at Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, FL. He will be joining his bride of forty-nine years, Isabel DeWitt Stallworth Tolar, who has awaited his arrival since March 16, 2010. He was born on November 27, 1933 and was raised in Dothan, Al, an only child, and left to join the US Army in 1953. He would later graduate from the University of Alabama, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in English. He then earned his Master's Degree at Florida State University, where he taught English for 2 years. In 1967, he moved his family to New Orleans, LA, where he and his wife had met, opened, owned and operated his own business, Tolar & Company Furniture Refinishing and Restoration, for over 30 years. His talent for artistry and eye for color took the broken and damaged and made it beautiful again. In 1984 the family relocated to Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and he continued to operate his business there until 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Verna Mildred Pierce, Father, William Horace Tolar, best friend, Walton Woodall and many other family and friends he loved deeply. He is survived by his eldest daughter, Jennifer DeWitt Tolar-Rybinski and husband, Andrew J. Rybinski, his grandson Gabriel Jackson Rybinski and granddaughter Holly-Joy Marie Rybinski, all of Kingwood, TX., as well as his son, William Seth Tolar and wife Denetta Tolar, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and his granddaughter Chelsea Brewer of Brunswick, GA. He will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Peggy "Margie" Skipp and his Sunday morning coffee-buddy, Barry Skipp and their children Renee and Jeff. Also by his sister-in-law Marijeanne, husband Thomas, and nephew Ian, all of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and his many great nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest eternally at Gulf Breeze Cemetery. "Carry on", dearest Daddy, carry on. Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Homes & Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
