Diane Carol Thurston

1960 - 2021

Diane Carol Thurston, 61, passed on October 30, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 5, 1960, in Baltimore, and grew up in North Point Village. Diane was the daughter of Mary Cecile (Tracey) Ricketts and the late Donald Ricketts. She was the daughter-in-law to Emmett (Ray) Thurston, Sr., deceased Nettie Viola (Sissy) Drumm Thurston. Diane graduated from Sparrows Point High School, class of 1978. Diane worked as a Payroll Administrator for Martin Marietta for 30 years. She married her high school sweetheart, Emmett (Ray) Thurston, Jr. and they lived in Edgemere. They celebrated 39 years of marriage in April. Surviving in addition to her husband, Emmett Ray Thurston, Jr. is her son Jordan Thurston and his wife Kate; her four brothers, Donald and (his wife Linda), Jeff and (his partner Ron), Steve and (his wife Nargis), Harry and (his wife Candy), her sister Mary Ricketts and sister-in-law Lori Temple. She is survived by her nephews Greg Ricketts and (his wife Sarah) and Chris Ricketts and (his wife Erin), and her nieces Stephanie Ricketts and (her wife Andrea), Lindsay Rice and (her husband Nathan), Meghan Ricketts, Brianna Montague and (her husband Anthony), and Marissa Ricketts, as well as, her four great-nephews, Landon, CJ, Bennett and Alex, and two great-nieces, Emmersyn and Carly.

A viewing will be held from 3-7 pm Thursday, November 4th at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk. 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, MD 21222 A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 5th at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk. Following the service, a reception will be held from 1-4 pm at the VFW Hall, 6521 North Point Road, Edgemere, MD 21219. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Diane's memory.
