LaBerta Woodbury Bowler Altermatt was born in Hurricane, Utah to Grant Woodbury and Bertha Wheeler Woodbury on April 16, 1919. She graduated from Hurricane High School and attended Dixie Junior College in St. George, Utah. While there, she was voted "D Day Queen". She married Joseph LeGrand Bowler, Sr. on June 20, 1940. In 1961, she graduated from Brigham Young University and became a school teacher at Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite, Nevada. In 1978, she married John Altermatt and moved to Kailua Kona, Hawaii. She later moved to Toquerville, Utah.
She is survived by five children - Joseph (Joe) LeGrand Bowler, Junior (Dixie Taft); Ruth McCormick; Tanya Weir; Annilee (Douglas) Ploucher and Francis John Bowler (Shannon Sullivan). She is survived by nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren. She is survived by three siblings and many close friends: Ilene Amacher, Vernon Woodbury and Grant Reed Woodbury.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 11:00am at Toquerville Chapel 63rd North Toquerville Boulevard. Visitation will be held prior to services on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 9:30 - 10:30am at the Toquerville Chapel.

I love, love, love this woman. She was such a joy to be around. I missed her so much when she moved. I did not hear about her funeral until Sunday. My love and condolences to her large family. I miss her sense of humor and her stories.
