Larry Severson Obituary
Ivins, Utah
Larry Severson, age 72, passed away February 8, 2015 in Ivins, UT. Larry was born in Fargo, ND March 2, 1942. He attended school in Fargo graduating from Fargo Central High School. He entered the US Army shortly after graduating and was stationed in Germany. He was there when President Kennedy made his famous Berlin speech. After his military service he returned to Fargo and attended North Dakota State University graduating with a major in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked for Branick Manufacturing in West Fargo, ND. He then went to work for Bandag Inc. in Muscaline, Iowa. He retired from there and moved to Ivins, Utah.
He had a life-long love of automotive interests which included drag racing with his Chevy six and then rebuilding and restoring many vehicles. He attended car shows locally and nationally. Friendships were formed based on the love of cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ella Severson, and his brother Don Severson. Surviving family members are special friend Carol Cummins, cousins Diane Stenso, Ray Severson, Patricia Pleton, Delores Smith and Ed Stalheim.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St, St. George, UT. Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary (435) 673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guestbook and receive instructions for a live webcast at www.spilsburymortuary.com .
