Maryllis Heyborne Obituary

Maryllis Heyborne

Orderville, Utah

Maryllis Heaton Heyborne returned to our loving Heavenly Father on January 28, 2015. She was born on August 13, 1932 to LeGrande C. Heaton and Arvilla Jorgenson Heaton of Orderville, Utah. Maryllis attended Valley Elementary and graduated from Valley High School where she formed many wonderful friendships that remained strong her entire life. She graduated from Branch Agricultural College of Utah on May 24, 1952 with a degree in physical education. It was also where she met Loyd Heyborne, her sweetheart of 62 years.

Maryllis and Loyd were sealed for time and eternity July 9, 1952 in the St. George Temple. They spent fond time raising their family in Cedar City until 1961 when she and Loyd returned to live in Orderville. She served in many church callings while living in Orderville. Maryllis also worked as the Valley High School Librarian for many years, ruling the library with her trusty yard stick. She loved the students and enjoyed sharing in their lives.

On retiring from the high school she continued to serve the youth by volunteering her musical talents at Valley Elementary where she became known as "Granny", dispersing and receiving warm hugs as well as tickling the ivories for those wonderful little scholars! She loved them all.

On the day of her passing the beloved "Baker Bunch Band" was playing in the care center, she heard them down the hall serenading her on to the next chapter of her life.

A very grateful thank you to the kind, compassionate care givers whom made such an impression on Maryllis during her stay at the Kanab Care Center.

Surviving family include husband Loyd, children Sherrie (Darrell) Johnson, Lorie (Jan, deceased) Hoyt, Steven (Kristie) Heyborne, Marianne (Tracy) Leigh, and Karla (Daren) Knape; sister Elenore (Lawrence) Reese, brother Chad Heaton; 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren whom she dearly loved and who will all miss her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Orderville LDS Church, with viewing from 10:00-11:45 am. Burial will be in the Orderville Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
