Ella Marie Brooks, age 93, returned to her heavenly home on July 9, 2025, in Hutto, Texas. Born to Elinor F Evans and George G Evans on August 1, 1931, in Dixon, New Mexico, Ella lived a life defined by faith, love, and an enduring devotion to her family.
Ella was preceded in death by her brothers, George Neil Evans and Donald Eugene Evans; her son, Calvin Wayne Brooks; her granddaughter, Cassie Brooks; her grandson, T.J. Dieringer; and her beloved husband, Walter (Pete) Brooks. Her resilient spirit and the lessons she imparted will serve as a guiding light for those she left behind.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda K. Standefer and Nelda D Adams; her son, Marc J Brooks(Chuck); 16 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren. Each one of them carries a piece of Ella's unyielding love and wisdom that will continue to inspire them for the rest of their lives.
Ella was a woman of great faith and a devout Christian. Her love for the Lord was evident in her unwavering commitment to her church family in Safford, Arizona. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort not only for herself but for all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A lover of life's simple pleasures, Ella enjoyed playing games with her family during the holidays and cherished every moment they spent together. She was a daily crossword puzzle enthusiast, each completed grid a testament to her sharp mind and creative spirit.
Ella was a beacon of light in the lives of her loved ones, her compassionate heart and open arms providing comfort and guidance. She encouraged her family to find joy in the simplest of moments, cherish their time together, and devote themselves to God. The legacy she leaves behind - God first, faith, love, and joy - will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1st at the Safford Church of Christ, 3888 US-191 Safford, Arizona 85546, at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to join us as we honor the life of this remarkable woman and the profound impact she had on all of us.
Ella's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. Her memory will serve as a reminder of the strength that lies within each of us and the enduring power of a life lived with love and faith. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
