Linda Lee Wenham (née Melton) was born October 7, 1951, in Tucson, Arizona to Clyde Lee Melton Jr. and Helen Amalia (Arriaga) Melton.
She was grateful for a childhood spent with her cherished grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and cousins – family who loved and cared generously and were integral to the fabric of her life's tapestry. She loved others with that same compassion and was a friend, mentor and bonus mother to many.
After graduating from Tucson High School, she studied Modern Dance at the University of Arizona and worked at St. Mary's Hospital where she met John Knowles Wenham. They married in January 1976 and settled in Phoenix, welcoming a son in 1980.
Her professional pursuits included Ward Clerk, Administrative Assistant and Office Manager. However, her most cherished time was spent with her family and friends as well as volunteering in her fellowship as a singer on the praise team, lifting up a melodious and authentic voice to her Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
With family at her side and the hope of heaven awaiting her, Linda danced into the arms of her Savior on September 22, 2023 at the age of 71 in Safford, Arizona. She is survived by her son Sean, Robert Wenham (Jennifer) and three grandchildren: Mercedes, Abigail, and Noam; as well as her sisters, Lorraine Leon (Edmundo) and Elaine Ruiz; two beloved nieces, Elena Flores (Ramon) and Alejandra Ruiz; nine nephews, bonus daughters and grandkids; and her sister-in-law, Julie Melton.
Her brother Clyde "Chacho" Melton passed in February 2025.
October was always observed as her "birth month" and so we continue to celebrate: grateful for her generous love and kindness and remembering her uncontrolled, joyous laughter which often spread to those around her.
