John Braz Obituary
He was the husband of Wanda C. (Banalewicz) Braz.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Margaret (Abbruzzi) Braz.
Mr. Braz had worked as a manager for the State of Rhode Island Department of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 2019. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Mr. Braz was a member of Crestwood Country Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, David Joseph Braz of Cumberland, RI, a brother, James M. Braz and his wife Jennifer of Barrington, RI, three sisters, Nancy J. Ingram and her husband Dennis of Warren, RI, Margaret M. McIntyre and her husband Peter of Marietta, GA, and Susan A. Fontaine and her husband Barry of Bristol, RI, and one granddaughter, Allyson M. Braz of Cumberland, RI. He was also the twin brother of the late Joseph Braz.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 4-8PM in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 9AM, from Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren.
Burial will be private.

My family and the Braz family kind of grew up together since our parents were best friends. One Christmas Eve, when I was a teenager, we were at the Braz´s celebrating when Johnny came bursting in, with his great personality and huge smile. He had a really big Ann & Hope bag in his arms. All of a sudden , he opened the bag and starting handing out Christmas gifts to his family. Nothing wrapped, tags still on. It was so funny and I remember everyone laughing. Johnny was always so funny. He will be missed.

After losing my dad, Jack less than 2 months ago - to hear of one of his childhood friends passing away as well is so very sad. Dad always had memorable stories of the two of them growing up. They always made me laugh.
I´m hoping they have each others company now in spirit.
My condolences to all of you.
