Pierce T. Williamson

Pierce T. Williamson, age 76, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Pierce was born in Fall River, MA on March 15, 1949. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances A. (Condon) Williamson, and the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Keating) Williamson. A lifelong resident of Tiverton, he attended local schools and graduated from De La Salle High School in Newport, RI. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Rhode Island College. His passion for history shaped a distinguished career at Tiverton High School, where he taught for 36 years and ultimately served as Chairman of the History Department.



Pierce also proudly served his country during the 1970's with the Army National Guard as a member of the 1111th Military Police, Newport, RI division. He was a member of the Tiverton Planning Board for many years including a term as the chairman. Pierce was a member of the National Teachers Association, Tiverton Retired Teachers Association, Newport County Retired Teachers Association. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a longtime member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club.



Pierce had an extensive knowledge of American and European History. With a lifelong love of reading, Pierce was an excellent source of fascinating facts and events in history. If you were fortunate enough to know Pierce or "Mr. Will", as his students called him, you know his captivating storytelling and his ability to bring the past vividly to life made him a treasured source of wisdom and conversation among family, friends, and colleagues.



Pierce is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara (Condon) Medeiros and her husband Jeff; brothers-in-law Robert Condon and his wife Ellen, and Stephen Condon, all of Portsmouth, RI. He also leaves behind his nieces Sarah Giarrusso and Amy Riccitelli, and nephews Rob Condon, Jay Condon, and Donald Condon.



Calling hours will be held at POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, RI on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral will be private with interment at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, 638 Main Road, Tiverton, RI. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local food bank or charity of your choice.
