Pam, My prayers go out to you and your family on the passing of your loving father. Search for solace in the Twenty Third Psalm, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Your father is with you forever, as my mother is with me. Sincerely, Terry Messick-Cass (Giorgi) Pleasanton, California

Pam and Jeff -
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a true and dear friend to my father Bert Haddock for almost 40 years. Basil always had a kind word, a great laugh, and brightened up any room he was in.
I know your Dad put up a great fight with cancer, and had the right attitude to continue to enjoy life during the last 2 years. I take some solace in knowing they are now able to be together again - I hope God is prepared for a lot of contageous laughter!

Dear Pam, Jeff and all the Kockos Family.
Basil's warm and fun-loving spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
The first time I met the Kockos family was at a gathering at Grandma's house (Jennifer and Bob's now) in 1972. I was barely 18 years old and Ron and I had been dating for about 3 months. Basil walked right up to Ron and me and said, "When are you kids getting married?"
I was speechless (and a little scared) but It seems he had the Greek sixth sense, because we've been married for 33 years, together for 37!
With much love and sympathy on your loss...

Hi Pam - I know that you and your Dad shared a special bond and I am sorry for your loss. This is a beautifully written tribute. I can attest that Basil loved the political discussions; I have many memories of spirited discussions at your kitchen table after holiday meals....Love, Terri
