Bernice ROSE Obituary

Bernice Helen Rose Formerly of San Pablo Bernice Helen Rose, 87, peacefully died surrounded by her children on October 9, 2010 in Monterey, CA. She was born in San Francisco on January 3, 1923 to Oscar and Agnes Erickson and grew up there. Bernice was very proud of her Swedish heritage. She met the love of her life, Army Sergeant William Rose, on a blind date and they married September 6, 1944. They were married 57 years until Bill passed in 2001. Bernice was always a devoted mother to her children. Bill and Bernice lived in El Cerrito and she worked at Capwells for many years in the credit department. They were members of the St. Jerome's Parish for 30 years before retiring to San Pablo. They joined St. Paul's Parish and Bernice was a member of various committees including reading volunteer for the St. Paul's Elementary School. She was an avid seamstress and crocheted for her grandchildren. Bill and Bernice enjoyed traveling and family gatherings. Bernice was on the beautification committee for San Pablo and volunteered at the San Pablo Senior Center. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Bill and brother Raymond. Bernice will be missed by her children David (Janice) from Carlisle, PA; Donald (Jenny) from Carmel, CA; and Nancy from Marina, CA. She was a grandmother to nine grandchildren Kim, Jon, Krista, Lori, Holly, Katie, Joel, Christine and Madison and great-grandmother (GG) to her 10 great-grandchildren. Her service will be held on Thurs., 10/21, 11 am at Holy Angels/St. Joseph Cemetery, 2540 Church Ln., San Pablo, 94806. In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Holy Angels Funeral & Cremation Center FD 1960 (510) 234-2012
