Betty M. Viera, 84, of Antioch died peacefully Monday, May 2, 2011 in Chula Vista surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dodge City, Ks., in 1926 to Floyd and Mildred Innis. She attended grade school in Dodge City, then her family moved to Ca in 1942. She graduated from Burlingame high and San Mateo J.C. She moved to Antioch in 1947 met and married Robert L. Viera in 1950. She retired from Crown-Zellerbach where she worked in the Human Resources Dept. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church. She was a 60 year member of the Young Ladies Institute and a Past President . She belonged to the Antioch Historic Society and was a past member of the Antioch Womens Club and the Soroptimist. She was preceeded in death by her husband Bob and her parents. Survived by her brother Tom Innis (Andy) of Oakland, Ca.,; sons Craig Viera (Mary) of Wilsonville, Al., Darren (Amy) of Chula Vista, Ca., daughters' Michelle Shellenberg (Rick) of Reedley, Ca., Sandra "Susie" Garvin (Kevin) of Healdsberg, Ca., Leeann Derrick (Scott) of Los Angeles, Ca. Grandchildren Sidney and Audrey Viera, Richard, Laura and Sarah Shellenberg, Colin and Graden Garvin and Austin Derrick. Visitation will be Tues. May 10, 2011 4:00 - 7:30 p.m., Vigil at 7:30 p.m. both at Higgins Chapel in Antioch, Ca. Funeral Liturgy will be Wed. 10:00 a.m. May 11, 2011 at Most Holy Rosary Church. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
