Bobbie Greene Obituary

Bobbie Greene
April 10, 1919 - March 9, 2022
Fremont
Our beloved Bobbie Greene was born on April 10, 1919, as Oberia Pauline White, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. She passed from us peacefully on March 9, 2022, a month short of her 103rd birthday. Bobbie is survived by her eldest son, Ernest G., two surviving grandchildren, Christopher and Erin, and five great-grandchildren. Her husband passed 22 years before her. Her younger son, Wayne and his son, Daniel, also preceded her.
Bobbie married Ernest R. Greene in 1938 and lived with him in the one-room log cabin that he built for them. They moved to California in the early '40s and both worked in the world's largest naval shipyard in Vallejo to serve our country during World War II. After moving often for work, Ernest and Bobbie made Fremont their permanent home in the '50s. Bobbie loved her community and was one of the petitioners to incorporate Washington Township into today's City of Fremont. Through her life, she raised her two sons, worked, went to school, made clothes and dolls, quilted and crocheted. Bobbie's most treasured and tireless work was the building and cultivation of her church, the Memorial Baptist Church, and its mission. Bobbie was devoted to the scripture, giving praise to our Lord, and encouraging all to have faith and belief in the love of God. Though she will be missed, we rejoice that she may rejoin her family in heaven.
