Brett Slinger Obituary

BRETT MICHAEL SLINGER Age 12, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on Sunday, February 16, 2003. Brett was born to Michael and Devon Slinger on July 2, 1990, and had lived in Danville all his life. Brett had been a baseball player in the Danville Little League and had recently joined "The Dukes," an amateur baseball team in Danville. He was also a member of the Mustang Soccer League. Brett was an avid skier and snowboarder and also enjoyed playing lacrosse, water sports and traveling with his family when was not involved in organized sports. Brett was part of the student leadership at his school, Charlotte Wood Middle School, as well as an honor roll student. He also received various awards for his contributions to the Charlotte Wood Community. Brett was a role model for his peers, especially his younger brother, Kyle John Slinger. In addition to his parents and brother, Brett's outgoing and adventurous spirit will be missed by his grandparents, John & Barbara Suby of Danville; Michael & Karin Slinger of Portola Valley; four aunts, Dana Jo Suby, Lisa Huckaby, Lisa Billings and Jennifer Slinger; an uncle, Brook Suby, and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Brett's Life will be held Sunday, February 23, 2003, 7:00 p.m. at Charlotte Wood Middle School, 600 El Captian Drive, Danville, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to be made to the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. This fund will support ongoing projects at Charlotte Wood Middle School and John Baldwin Elementary as well as a scholarship fund for leadership and athletics. Checks made out to the SRVEF, P.O. Box 1463 San Ramon, CA 94538. Please indicate donations are for the Brett Slinger Memorial Fund. Today we stopped by Brett's memorial plague to pay our respects to such a handsome young man with a smile that warmed your heart. I think of him whenever we walk Osage Park and pass CWMS or John F. Baldwin School. Gone way to young but never forgotten.
