Catherine "Cathy" Borjon went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 30, 2023, at the age of 91. Cathy was born in Pittsburg, California on March 13, 1932. She was a 1950 graduate of Pittsburg High School and a devoted member of the St. Peter Martyr Church.As a lifelong proud resident of Pittsburg, Cathy worked for U.S. Steel Mill, Continental Can Company and Pittsburg Unified School District. She dedicated her later years in life to providing healthcare support for local elderly loved ones. Cathy was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed rooting for her favorite teams Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers.Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Baldomero and Vicenta Matamoros; brothers Ildefonzo ("Ponch"), Marcellino ("Chino"), Robert ("Bob"), Baldomero Jr. ("Baldy"), Ramon and Miguel; sisters Socorro ("Sue") Matamoros, Virginia ("Virgie") Heredia, Irene Matamoros and Mary Osuna.Cathy is survived by her siblings Frank Matamoros, Rachel Gutierrez and Yolanda Pearson; son Edward and his wife Nancy; son Paul and his wife Elizabeth; daughter Margaret; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and numerous relatives.Funeral liturgy will be on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10:30am at St. Peter Martyr Church in Pittsburg. Inurnment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch. Reception to then immediately follow at the Pittsburg Yacht Club.
