Charlene Barbara Nichols passed away on June 20, 2021 at her home in Richmond. She was born in San Francisco, October 26, 1938. She graduated from Washington High School and earned her Associate Degree from San Francisco City College. She married Cornelius Nichols in 1959 and had three children. She worked for San Francisco Recreation and Parks for 30 years. She started as a Recreation Director and with hard work and determination was appointed Superintendent of Recreation and Parks. The family moved to Richmond in 1986 where she retired. She loved shopping, cooking and most of all traveling abroad and cruising with her husband and visited many exotic locations. She enjoyed family gatherings on holidays and every birthday. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Cornelius; children Timothy (Paula), Cathy and Kenneth; grandchildren Nicholas and Alyssa. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. Callistus, San Pablo.
